How fresh are the kuchen?
Answer: They are baked fresh, frozen fresh, and
will remain fresh in the freezer for 3 months.
Do you have Diabetic kuchen?
Answer: Not at this time
How do you eat these?
Answer: You can eat them warm up in the microwave for 10 sec. or
more or cold and anytime of the day.
Can Norwegians, Welsh, Polish or any other
nationality eat these and what will happen?
Answer:
You won't turn into a German
What is your favorite?
Answer: They are all very good, if you like fruit
get the fruit, if you love nuts, get the nutty ones,
nothing, get the sugar kuchen.
What is wedding kuchen?
Answer: A very thin kuchen with sugar, cinnamon
and graham cracker crumbs. I do have a recipe,
if you want to special order.
What is that brown stuff on top?
Answer: Cinnamon most of the time. If you don't
like cinnamon, please let me know. Nutmeg is
used on top of Prune and Pumpkin kuchen.
Why aren't all flavors in the large kuchen?
Answer: Some flavors are just so rich, they
are best as small mini/sampler kuchens.
Can you refreeze these?
Answer: Yes you can and the kuchen can be
kept in the freezer for up to 3 months and longer.
3 months is preferred.
How long in the refrigerator?
Answer: 3 days at the most
Do you use fruit from a can?
Answer: Fresh fruit is always used with the
exception of apricot and plums.
How many calories are in these things?
Answer: Germans show love with food, so they
are calorie free (we wish).
Are there preservatives in the kuchens?
Answer: No added preservatives and each kuchen
is different as they are handmade and not machine
made. The custard is very thick and the crust is
light and airy.
Geez, you have a lot of flavors, what gives?
Answer; Karen loves to be creative, many of
the kuchen are new versions esp the ones with
nuts. There are older standbys, like apple, prune
and cottage cheese.
Do you make your own cheese?
Answer: No
Is the cream pasteurized?
Answer: Yes
